Watermelon: Summer is here

To celebrate Watermelon, we can either eat some or we can make some delicious drinks with its juice and Galvanina’s fabulous non-alcoholic beverages!

There is no better month than August to celebrate national watermelon day! This fruit is the ultimate symbol of summer. While this year we may be traveling less, meeting fewer friends, and partying less, we can devote ourselves to trying new things close to home, like picnics in the park, exploring our home towns, cooking, and expressing our creativity in new ways.

Let’s celebrate watermelon. We can eat it slice by slice, but not true celebration is complete without a toast! Let’s mix up some watermelon cocktails, which can be served both with and without alcohol.

First, let’s create a vessel for our drink: cut the watermelon in half lengthwise and scoop out its pulp to create a bowl.

Let's make a toast!

Next, cut the pulp into small pieces and put it in a blender along with whichever juices, soft drinks, or alcoholic beverages you like best. You can now pour the concoction back into the watermelon bowl and add ice cubes. Use a ladle to serve your cocktail.

For our own recipes, we used a secret ingredient: Galvanina drinks, produced by a  top-quality company from Rimini. The brand’s name comes from an eponymous water spring in Rimini’s surrounding hills. Galvanina is famous for its mineral waters, flavored mineral waters, organic carbonated soft drinks, mixers, and iced teas, all of which come in a variety of flavors including tangerine, pomegranate, prickly pear, chinotto, cedrata, and ginger.

Alcoholic Watermelon Cocktail

The first recipe we recommend is a mixture of 1/4 watermelon juice, 1/2 Galvanina organic lemon soda, and 1/4 rum. Add lime juice, brown sugar, and mint leaves to taste, and serve with lots of ice. Galvanina’s organic lemon soda  is the ideal ingredient to add to your drink, since it is made with the juice and pulp of fresh, carefully-selected southern Italian lemons.

Non-Alcoholic Watermelon Drink

For this simple recipe, mix watermelon juice with a bottle of Galvanina's organic peach tea and a bottle of Galvanina’s tonic water. Then, add some mint leaves, brown sugar, and ice for a refreshing treat.
